Especially in times of crisis, entrepreneurs often have to make quick decisions that need to be legally sound. This challenge is all the greater the more international the company is, as many special features of commercial law in different countries have to be taken into account. Advoselect member law firms are able to support their clients in a special way because they can draw on a broad European network of experts in commercial law in the background. The Advoselect fall conference, which this time took place at member law firm PLMJ Advogados in Lisbon, focused on even more intensive networking between law firms.
“In view of current developments, optimal international networking has become even more important for leading commercial law firms and their clients,” says Viktoria Maruschka, CEO of Advoselect Service AG. “Speed is more important than ever, as there is currently a great deal of momentum in many European countries on important issues of commercial law.” In order to meet the new challenges in the best possible way, the Advoselect network presented and officially launched a new app at the fall conference in Lisbon. “The app developed especially for Advoselect will enable law firms and their professionals to network even more closely across Europe, to work together on current topics and to further deepen the professional exchange on current legislation and the latest rulings.” Clients can also use the new Advoselect app free of charge: The new digital service for entrepreneurs in Europe offers the latest news, an extensive knowledge base, all member law firms with their specialist expertise at a glance, documents to download, recordings of webinars, podcasts on all aspects of commercial law and much more.
The fall conference in Portugal also saw the launch of other new services that Advoselect will soon be offering. This includes an overview of real estate acquisition issues in the various European countries. “As part of the ‘Business in Europe’ series, the construction and real estate law working group at Advoselect intends to develop a corresponding guide in the coming months, which will support entrepreneurs when acquiring real estate in other European countries,” says Viktoria Maruschka. In the other specialist committees, current judgments and issues relating to legislation in the areas of company law, employment law, insolvency law and international arbitration and procedural law were discussed. In the latter committee, the focus this time was primarily on arbitration proceedings with a sanctioned party, particularly with regard to Russia. The multi-day event was hosted this time by PLMJ Avogados in Lisbon, which also offered a varied program to accompany the conference – including a special tuk-tuk ride through Old Lisbon. The leading Portuguese commercial law firm PLMJ is the largest member firm of the Advoselect network with more than 50 partners, more than 150 professionals and 400 employees in seven countries.
