My specialties
IT Law
Information technology law (“IT law”) concerns the large area of software, hardware and data processing, which is developing and changing faster than almost any other area. It is therefore easy to lose track here. We offer you sound advice and support you in all legal matters relating to your IT, including contract review and drafting, licenses, hosting and, last but not least, cybersecurity, to ensure that your IT business practices are legally sound and protected from malicious interference.
Intellectual Property
Intellectual property law is used whenever you need to protect your intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks and copyrights, and protect it from damage caused by unfair competition. We support you with tailor-made legal structuring (e.g. trademark searches and registrations, structuring and obtaining licenses and rights of use) as well as with the enforcement of or defence against claims for compensation in the event of infringement.
More about me
Globalization does not stop at legal advice. Especially when advising companies, it is often essential to look beyond national law.
Internationality is no longer just a matter for large companies. In the IP sector in particular, international activities often begin in small entrepreneurial structures.
With my advice, I also provide clients with the legal certainty in an international context that others can often only offer in a national context.
Wolfgang Döring in person
I have lived in beautiful Upper Bavaria for more than 20 years, with a few short interruptions. I spend my time with my family in the mountains, at the stove, on the way to or – even better – in Italy.
Career
Wolfgang Döring studied law in Freiburg and Aberdeen/GB. He then completed his legal clerkship in Mannheim and Heidelberg.
Wolfgang Döring was admitted to the bar in 2001. From 2001-2003 he worked as a lawyer at Bartsch und Partner and from 2004-2009 at Linklaters in London and Munich in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice Group. Wolfgang Döring subsequently held management positions at various leading global technology companies (Atos, SAP, Microsoft). For many years, his focus has been on setting up and managing the legal departments of fast-growing technology providers. For example, he spent four years as General Counsel of Celonis SE, a software company based in Munich and New York, which is one of the most valuable European scale-ups.
Wolfgang Döring is particularly involved in national and international projects in the areas of start-up and scale-up consulting, IT and business process outsourcing, global data protection projects, software licensing and distribution, mergers & acquisitions and has been working for Bartsch Rechtsanwälte as a lawyer (Of Counsel) since October 2013.
